About Jonathan

I’ve always loved books. I read everything in my parents' library—the classics, Michener's epic sagas, everything in between. Their stories taught me about creativity and storytelling, but also about men and women who had the courage to do what was right. Who, as Louis L'Amour would say, "Ride the brand."

That inspiration led me to found an advertising and marketing firm, where I learned that stories move hearts and minds. Now, after more than twenty-five years in business, I've launched Crowned Lion Books—an independent press dedicated to publishing narratives that inspire courage and virtue, teach life lessons, and lift up the human experience.

Courage to Stand: Across the Ages is my first book and Crowned Lion's inaugural release. It examines heroes from St. George to Harriet Tubman, from Thomas More to Dietrich Bonhoeffer—men and women who chose conviction over comfort.

The series continues with four American volumes. Courage to Stand: Planting Courage (2026) traces American courage from its colonial roots—Pilgrims, Roger Williams, William Penn—through revolution with Patrick Henry, John Adams, and George Washington. Founding Courage (2026) follows the next generation building institutions—Madison, Hamilton, Marshall, Webster. Refining Fire traces courage through Civil War and world wars. Standing Firm brings the story to our time. Together, they ask: What does courage look like in each generation's defining struggle?

Beyond the historical series, I'm working on fiction concepts—stories set in different times and places that share the same mission: narratives that challenge readers to live with greater conviction.

Originally from southeastern Pennsylvania, I've lived in the Midwest for over two decades and have called Madison, Wisconsin, home for fifteen years. When I'm not writing, I enjoy traveling, golfing, and spending time with my wife and children.

I'd love to hear from you about the book—please feel free to contact me.
